They are the legal advisor of their clients and are responsible for making case documentation of clients, plus they attend hearings on behalf of their clients.

This profession is at no 4 in the ranking, which serves humanity with their skills and knowledge. According to the U.S BUREAU OF LABOR STATISTICS, more than 792,500 attorneys were hired in 2016. An attorney has a variety of duties in their belt because of the immense crime rate in the U.S and also in many legal advisory laws of almost every aspect whether you do business or make contracts with others. Responsibilities may vary according to the area of study in which the attorney practice. Some basic duties of attorneys are as follow:
- They give proper advice to their clients about the allegations they face and give them guidelines about the proceedings.
- They thoroughly look for the shreds of evidence and search all the aspects that are connected with their client case and present their clients in the court and prove the client innocent under the applicable law.
- They try to solve the case as early as possible by developing efficient case strategies and try to be cost-effective for their customer rather than going for long trials.
- They work as legal advisors in different cases and prepare the documents like contracts, businesses, and Company’s employees.
The categorization of attorneys depends upon the relative education and practice of the attorney; they can be a general practitioner or might be professional in different fields such as:

- And bottom 10% attorney gets less than $58,220 per annum
Many other attorneys work privately and attend their client’s cases and earn more than $100 per hour. The charges of private attorneys are high because they have to meet the standards like good office, supporting staff, and other necessities.
Certifications and training of attorneys:
This profession almost requires seven years of an individual to become an attorney then he or she will start their respective field practices and earn their livings.
Education: After getting the bachelor’s degree, motivated attorneys go for higher studies and they must have to earn the degree of Juris Doctor (JD) from a certified school of law affiliated with the American Bar Association. After the JD, the attorneys get the proper license to practice their studies in the States of America.
Testing: Law schools of big reputation take test against the admission of Juris doctor to access the capabilities and skills of the students.
Entrance to the Bar: Before entering the bar the students must go for the bar examination in which a written ethical exam will be taken, after passing the test students are allowed to attend the bar hearings according to their interests. They are also allowed to practice during the study as a volunteer under experienced attorneys.

Although education and experience matter in the life of an attorney, they must have some soft and interpersonal skills to tackle the harsh and tough environment.

The three different types of attorneys are as follow:
- Estate planning attorney: the attorney who did the practice of law to help the clients in planning their decisions and distribution of the assets after their death, and is responsible for giving suitable plans to their clients in property and money investment. They make sure about the legal documentation and transferring of assets after the death of their clients. If you want to study this aspect of the law, then first you must have an interest and basic knowledge of the procedures to help your clients.
- Trial Attorney: Civil litigation attorneys are also called trial attorneys, in this type, they help the clients who are going through interrogations and help the clients to take another party to the court. These attorneys are helpful when two parties have conflicts with one another and they put cases against each other in the court. This is a very interesting field to choose because there is so much practical learning due to varieties of cases.
- Criminal defense attorney: in this field, you are bound to save the client who has done the allegation against the criminal law. The uttermost job of this attorney is to get the client out of the jail with minimum prison time. This is very critical and time-consuming but if you succeed in helping clients you will earn a good reward out of it.
